Bartonella

Bartonella is a pathogenic bacteria transmitted by ticks, fleas, lice, and possibly spiders, to humans and other animals (like your pets!). Bartonella is the second most common co-infection of Lyme disease. I use the following laboratories for Bartonella testing for people who want proof of the infection:

  • Igenex Lab Bartonella Panel (blood draw)

  • Vibrant Wellness Tickborne Disease Panel (blood draw)

  • DNA Connexions (urine sample)

These labs have some of the most accurate Bartonella testing currently available. They test for several different strains and use multiple markers such as IgG and IgM antibodies, ELISA testing, DNA polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and more. While I do not require testing for Bartonella, as the infection can often be identified and addressed through clinical presentation of symptoms and health history, getting a positive or negative test can help give a person peace of mind in moving forward on their path to optimal wellness!
